What a cool idea! "Someguy" thought up a scheme to help the world re-discover their inner artists-he released 1000 blank journals into the world, each with a graphic designer designed cover. They were passed on from friend to friend, or to strangers, even left in public places or mailed abroad. Now there is a documentery being made out of these incredible books.
Dan Eldon is one of the most amazing people to ever live. His journals on Africa are outstanding and his devotion to a dangerous subject is amazing-it is so tragic that he died in his twenties. There is a movie comming out about his life though, where Daniel Radcliff from Harry Potter will play Dan. In the meantime get a fix by checking out his journals online at http://http://www.daneldon.org/. Some of his journals are also on display at the Candela/Decker gallery in Manhattan.
Something about this brand of fun, symbol-heavy jewelry makes me a total sucker for their arbitrary pieces. I know that a piece of colored twine with a peace sign charm on it isn't worth $25, but something makes me think that if I made it on my own, my wish wouldn't come true. I especially love the peace sign, and skull necklaces.
